Census Information

The Department for Education now requires all schools to collect information about pupils' Country of Birth and Nationality as part of the school census.  All the replies are added together and the information is given to the Local Authority - we do not pass on information about individual pupils.  The Local Authority then adds all the schools' figures together and sends it to the Department for Education.  The purpose of this information is to make sure that education in school meets the needs of all pupils and to secure equality of opportunity for ethnic minority pupils.
