Ainsdale Coast

I am organising a fieldwork day for the Year 8 students as part of their geographical studies. The day will include a visit to Crosby where the students will do a land use survey and observe coastal features including the Gormley statues, undertake a sand dune transect and survey of tourist attractions at Ainsdale. This information will form the basis of an enquiry into coastal features and usage which will be undertaken at school and forms part of the final assessment of the year.

We will travel to and from the Sefton coast with Coachfinder Coaches. Students will need to be at school at the normal time and we will leave promptly soon afterwards. We aim to be back at school between 3.15pm and 3.30pm, depending on the traffic.

As the weather can be very changeable it is essential that students are prepared with the correct kit. Students will need:
• Suitable clothing as they will be outside for the whole day - waterproofs and warm clothing and/or sun protection
• Strong shoes
• Packed lunch with a drink
• Pencils/pen
• Any medication they may require

Letters are in the Adobe PDF format. If you do not have the Adobe Acrobat PDF reader you can download it from here.
