Bake Off winner Harry

Bake Off 2011

Teachers and students went head to head recently to create the most scrumptious kind of cup cakes they could in the "Great Sale Grammar School Bake Off".

Of course it was all in aid of a good cause. Every penny raised from selling the cakes and tickets to spectators was donated to Children in Need who help children a lot less fortunate than ourselves.

Many thanks to Mrs. Cross, Miss Irvine and Mrs. Sheppard for organising the event.

The air in the Food Technology room was thick with a competitive atmosphere as the teams battled it out to bake their goods within the one hour time limit.

Frantic mixing, blending, checking the ovens and decorating their wares engulfed the team members desperate to crowned winners for 2011 - but there could only be one!

The winning team, carefully judged by the Headteacher and last year's winner, former Deputy Headteacher, Mrs. Boyes, was Mrs. Reynolds and Harry Jackson, followed closely by Miss Sloper and Emily Gough, with Miss Watson and Isobel Archer picking up the award for the most creative design.

The competition was followed by a mammoth cake sale of all the cup cakes produced, which, when coupled with parental contributions, raised over £800 for the charity.
