As one of our more able science students, your daughter is being asked if she would like to take part in this year's "Dragonfly Day", at Salford University on Friday 2nd July. This is a taster day to give Yr 10 girls interested in Maths, Science or Design and Technology the opportunity to find out more about life at University and careers in Engineering.
Most of the day will consist of hands-on activities to practice their engineering skills, problem solving and team working. By the end of the day they will have found out more about careers in engineering, life at university, thought about subjects they will need to continue with at school and they will have met girls currently in Yr 12 who are considering doing a Science, Technology, Engineering or Maths course at University.
This will involve your daughter being out of school for the whole day. She will need to register at 8.30am in the school reception, will travel by school minibus to the University of Salford and will return by 3.30pm (traffic depending!). The girls will not need to wear school uniform. Lunch and drinks will be provided (please inform us of any special dietary requirements).
Letters are in the Adobe PDF format. If you do not have the Adobe Acrobat PDF reader you can download it from here.
