Go4Set Trip

Your son/daughter has expressed interest in being on one of the two Sale Grammar School teams for this year's Go4SET competition - this competition is between schools from the whole of the North West. I attach information about the Go4SET scheme and the relevant registration forms. The students who were involved last year were awarded the BA Silver CREST Awards for their hard work.

As part of the scheme the students do have to commit themselves to two months of hard work over and above their school work. They will be out of school all day on Friday 23rd April to attend the Launch event at MUFC. At the launch they will meet their mentor from a local industry and be told about their project. They will then meet after school for two hours every Monday evening during the project and their mentor will come into school to meet with them regularly. They will have a half day out of school to visit their mentor's place of work at some time during May or June. The judging and Celebration Day will then be on Wednesday 7th July at Liverpool University.

The costs associated with this will be met by the Science Specialism and so will not involve any cost to you. In return we ask for commitment from the students as they are representing SGS.
