Key Stage 5


The school timetable operates on a ten day (two week) cycle consisting of 25 x 1 hour lessons each week.

 

All students follow the National Curriculum in Key Stages 3 and 4 and in Key Stage 5 (Sixth Form) all students follow courses in 4 AS Levels in Year 12 and 3 A2 Levels in Year 13.

Year 12 

To enter into Year 12, students must achieve a minimum of 5 full course GCSE passes, 2 of which must be at least grade A and 3 at least grade B (short courses will not be counted) and achieve a minimum grade C at GCSE in English Language and Mathematics.

In addition, all students must have a minimum grade B at GCSE to follow chosen courses. Where students have not taken the appropriate GCSE course, overall performance at GCSE is considered.

Year 13 

All students follow 3 A2 Level courses chosen from their AS Level courses (a minimum pass grade must be achieved at AS). 

 

General 

In years 12 and 13 all students will follow a General Studies course and PE/Community Volunteering. Students are taught 9x1 hour lessons per subject over ten days.
