Languages Enrichment Day

Dear Parent/Carer,

As part of the "Gifted and Talented" program, the Department of Modern Foreign Languages would like your son/daughter to attend a language Enrichment Event at Manchester Metropolitan University on Monday 7th June 2010.

The conference has been organised by Routes into Languages and is aimed at KS3 pupils studying Spanish or French. It promises to be an interactive, and interesting day, designed to engage, stimulate school children doing languages in order to think about the advantages of learning a foreign language. Part of the day will include a talk about Why study languages?", two taster sessions in a new language ( in Arabic, Mandarin, Chinese, Urdu or Italian) and a multi-cultural market where pupils will be able to learn more about different cultures. Also, students from the university will talk to pupils about life at university and the advantages of studying a foreign language.

We will be taking the Metrolink from Brooklands station around 08:45 into Manchester and then a short walk to Manchester Metropolitan University. We will return to school at approximately 15:30.

Letters are in the Adobe PDF format. If you do not have the Adobe Acrobat PDF reader you can download it from here.
