As many of you know, after the success of previous such visits with A/AS/GCSE level students, I am hoping to run a visit to Salzburg in April. The aims of the visit are as follows:
• to provide insight into German speaking countries and cultures.
• to provide the opportunity to research possible topics for use in coursework and/or oral examinations
• to provide the opportunity to practise the spoken language
In order to maximize the impact of such a visit, German is used as the language of communication for most activities, and participants are expected to relish the opportunity to speak German as much as possible. A huge amount can be learned in a short time, and speaking the language does prove to be fun.
As we also have a number of highly motivated Year 12 students who learnt German to G.C.S.E. and who would also benefit from such an experience, the trip will this year be open to those students as well as to AS/GCSE level students. It would suit especially those pupils in Year 12 who are studying Music and/or History.
