Brief Entry Requirements

For September 2010 prospective Sixth Form students must achieve a minimum of five full course GCSE passes, two of which must be at least grade A and three at least grade B (short courses will not be counted) and achieve a minimum grade C at GCSE in English Language and Mathematics.

Students must achieve at least a grade B in the subject they wish to study (allowance is made if a student has not taken a GCSE in a chosen course of study).

The majority of places are taken up by Sale Grammar School pupils who continue beyond Year 11. However, each year a number of places are allocated to external students (usually about 35 places).
