Future Chef Competition 2018Posted on: January 8th 2019
In October 2018 we held school heats for the Future Chef competition, where students had to produce a main course for 2 people for a budget of £5. Mr Smallwood and Mrs Coverley judged the entries and we had two Year 10 students that were selected to go through to the local heats.
The local heats were held at Trafford College in Altrincham in December 2018. The students had a fabulous experience producing 2 courses on a budget of £7 in the professional kitchens. They were supported and judged by industry professionals, including chefs from the Renaissance Hotel, Hotel Indigo and Sodexho. The judges struggled to decide on a winner and unfortunately Nya came a very close second to a student from Altrincham Grammar School for Boys.
The dishes that our students produced were:
Carribean Coconut Chicken served with cous cous and Chocolate profiteroles
Wrap-a-dap Sandwich and Chocolate Orange Soufflé
