Sixth Form Information Evening
Students are at the heart of everything we do at Sale Grammar School and we are committed to helping our young people find appropriate courses of study at post 16 level. The Sixth Form at Sale Grammar School has a wholly academic post 16 provision and we offer a wide range of A Level courses.
Sixth Form Information Evening: Thursday 25th January 2018 from 6:00pm - 9:00pm
Online Registration to attend the Sixth Form Information Evening is now closed.
However, if you still wish to attend and have not pre-registered, we will be able to create a timetable for you on the night so that you can attend talks on the A Level subjects you are interested in studying.
Please arrive at the Refectory (using the Sixth Form Entrance) between 5.30pm-6.00pm just before the start of our Sixth Form Information Evening – staff will be on hand to help and will assign you to subject talks at specific times during the evening.
During the evening, talks will be held for all of the A Level subjects we offer and Miss Mattox (Head of Sixth Form / Assistant Headteacher) and Mr Smallwood (Headteacher) will give an introductory talk on life in our Sixth Form and the application process. There will also be sessions on the Academic Enrichment Courses we offer (Perspectives on Science, EPQ and Core Maths).
Sixth Form Applications
After you have attended our Information Evening and have decided on the subjects you wish to study at A Level, you will then need to complete our online Sixth Form Application Form, which will be available here on our school website from Friday 26th January 2018.
By this date, our Year 12 Option Blocks will be available to download from our website and you will need to make your subject choices from these option blocks.
You will need to select 3 subjects from the different option blocks. You may choose an additional fourth subject to study at AS if you wish. You cannot choose more than one subject from any one option block.
If your subject choices do not fit into the option blocks published, you should pick an alternative combination that can be accommodated and state your ideal choices in the additional comments section provided on the application form. If we are unable to accommodate your preferences, we will contact you to discuss this.
DEADLINE FOR ONLINE APPLICATIONS: Friday 9th February 2018.
