Young Musician CompetitionPosted on: November 17th 2016
Sale Grammar School Young Musician Competition was a fantastic event that provided 38 students with the opportunity to compete to win a trophy in their own category or to be the inaugural winner of the ‘Forsyths Young Musician’ shield. Three external judges; David Chapman, Sarah Murphy and Joseph Starbuck, came to adjudicate the evening and share some words of wisdom with the finalists. The overall winner and first student to receive the ‘Forsyths Young Musician’ shield was George Hilton 12A, with a performance of Notturno III by Liszt. We would like to thank Dawson’s Music Shop in Altrincham, The Hallé, The Bridgewater Hall and the Royal Northern College of Music for the prizes they provided for the evening. Well done to all those students who auditioned and took part in the event.
