Sixth Form Information Evening 2020

Sixth Form Information Evening: Thursday 30th January 2020

Students in our current Year 11 and those from other schools who are interested in joining our Sixth Form in September 2020 are invited to attend our Sixth Form Information Evening in January.  During the evening, talks will be held for all of the A Level subjects that we offer and Miss Mattox (Head of Sixth Form / Assistant Headteacher) and Mr Smallwood (Headteacher) will speak about life in our Sixth Form and the application process.  The aim of the evening is to help students find out more about our Sixth Form and learn about the different courses we offer.

To register to attend, all students (both those in our current Year 11 and those from other schools) must complete the online Sixth Form Information Evening Registration Form by Friday 13th December 2019 at the latest; the online form will close after this date.  You can find the registration form at the bottom of this page.

The form will ask you to specify which subject talks you would like to attend; we will email you a bespoke timetable for the evening the week before the event takes place, with details of the times and locations of each of the talks you have registered to attend.

Please note that all of our correspondence will be sent via email only, therefore it is vital that you correctly type your email address when completing the Sixth Form Information Evening Registration Form.

Next Steps

If after the Sixth Form Information Evening, you decide you would like to apply for a place in our Sixth Form, you will need to submit an online application form.  This form does not become available until AFTER the Sixth Form Information Evening has taken place.

Sixth Form Application Form: opens Friday 30th January 2020

The Sixth Form Application Form will be available here on our school website from Friday 30th January 2020.

The Year 12 Option Blocks show which subjects are available in each block and will be available to download from our website alongside the application form; you will need to make your subject choices from these option blocks.

You need to study three subjects from five possible option blocks. The remaining two blocks can be free.  You may however choose an additional fourth subject to study at AS Level if you so wish.  Please note that you cannot choose more than one subject from any one option block.

If your choice of subjects does not fit into the option blocks as published, you should select alternative choices that do fit in the option blocks.  There is then a comments section available on the application form where you can state what combination of subjects you would have preferred had the option blocks allowed.

We look at all applications together and where it is possible to accommodate alternatives to the published option blocks, we will do our very best to do so, but please be aware that this cannot be guaranteed.

DEADLINE FOR ONLINE APPLICATIONS: FRIDAY 21st February 2020

Applications received after this date will be treated as a LATE application and will not be considered until after all other applications have been processed in August, and only if places are still available.

Late applications should be made directly to the Sixth Form Team - please contact sixthformadmin@salegrammar.co.uk for further details of the late application process.
