Sixth Form Entry Requirements and an Overview of the Application Process

The majority of students choose to remain with us as they move from Key Stage 4 into Key Stage 5, stating that they really do benefit from the continuity of teaching, and the exceptional provision both inside and outside of the classroom. However, each year, we are also delighted to welcome students into our Sixth Form from other schools. These students are fully integrated into school life and our discussions with them demonstrate that they quickly feel part of our school community.

In order to join our Sixth Form, you need to have achieved:

  • A minimum Attainment 8 score of 60
  • A grade 6 in GCSE English Language and Maths
  • A grade 6 in the Subject which you choose to study, (or two Grade 6s if you wish to study Science and took Co-ordinated Science at GCSE)

Please note that for some subjects, you do not necessarily have to have studied the subject at GCSE, and this information is outlined in the subject information, and can be discussed with staff at the open evening event.

It is important that you read the admissions policy carefully for the year which you wish to join the Sixth Form. This outlines to you the entry requirements and the oversubscription criteria which is applied and can be accessed here.

Should you have any questions about the admissions process, then you should email admissions@salegrammar.co.uk
