Charity Day 2016

Posted on: April 18th 2016

On Friday 18th March 2016 Sale Grammar School celebrated another successful Charity Day, with each of our four Halls sharing an incredible £3880 amongst their six deserving charities.  Charity Day is an annual event which sees our school’s community spirit at its very best.  Students play a variety of roles; from electing the charities that they personally would like to support, to planning and organising their own fundraising events on the day.  All students rise to the challenge of raising as much money as possible and this year has been one of our most successful.

With a small donation, students are invited to attend school in their own clothes and the day then begins with an ever popular Krispy Kreme sale at break time.  700 donuts were consumed in the space of fifteen minutes, raising hundreds of pounds towards our grand total.  The main event occurs at lunchtime when the sports hall becomes a bustling and vibrant market place.  With stalls ranging from ‘human fruit machine’ to ‘blindfolded Pictionary’, students are united in two common aims: to have fun and, more importantly, to raise money.

Each of our four Halls are proud to be able to donate £970 to their elected charities and would like to congratulate their Hall members on their generosity and their professionalism on the day.
