Sixth Form Officer: Enrichment

What are the main duties and responsibilities? 

  • Contribute to the work of the Sixth Form Leadership Team
  • Be ambassadors for the school and act as role models
  • Represent the school by greeting visitors and leading tours support the school during key events (e.g. Entrance Exam, Open Evenings, Induction days etc) including planning and delivering presentations
  • Promote a sense of belonging to the Sixth Form Community, ensuring a collective pride for Sixth Form areas and resources
  • Help to deliver Year Group and Hall assemblies on a regular basis
  • These students will work alongside the Personal Development Team to promote the enrichment opportunities e.g. extracurricular and wider leadership opportunities, across the school, building a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the range and variety of enrichment opportunities on offer to students.
  • They will also support the Head of Sixth Form in the development of volunteering across the wider school community.
  • Already being committed to extra-curricular, they may also wish to lead a club for other students.
  • They will support students across the school, to understand the importance of being involved in other areas of school life. Working alongside the Personal Enrichment Coordinator, they will also support them in gaining student voice on this area and supporting in the publicity of these areas of school life through the school newsletter, social media and the website.

What personal qualities are needed? 

  • Have already displayed a commitment to the wider school through contributions to areas such as extra curricular, leadership and volunteering, and be able to clearly articulate and promote the benefits of these
  • Be 100% reliable and fulfil the duties as outlined above, giving up your time as and when required
  • Be visibly committed to the school community, its vision and values; your conduct and appearance should provide a consistently positive role model for others
  • Have the respect of your peers, so that you can act as a leader for the student body and motivate others, as well as holding others to account
  • Be able to share views in a respectful manner, understanding that ideas need to fit into the wider school vision and values
  • Display effective leadership and organisational skills, so that you can get things done through working with others
  • Have good team and interpersonal skills, being polite and mature in your approach, so that you can support and encourage others
  • Have the ability to work to deadlines and manage your workload as well as the additional responsibilities you will be required to undertake
  • Be willing and able to speak confidently at school events and have an interest in shaping the future of the school and a desire to leave a positive legacy for future students
