Academic Mentors

What are the main duties and responsibilities?

To support students studying the chosen subject at A Level or GCSE or KS3.  

To support staff to deliver support sessions at lunchtime or after school.   

To work one to one with students to help support their learning.  

To share revision strategies and organisation tips.  

To help explain content or work on exam technique with students.  

Act as an ambassador for the subject. 

What personal qualities are needed? 

Good subject knowledge  

Enthusiasm and commitment to engage in the process.  

Time management skills to pursue the role.  

Able to develop a good rapport with students and staff.  

Good communication skills.  

Excellent organisation skills.  

Good listening skills.  

Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.  

Able to demonstrate initiative.
